3 For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. 4 For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, 5 so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. 6 Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; 7 if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; 8 the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.
Romans 12:3-8
As the Body of Christ, we must work together and serve the church and our community. God has gifted each believer to serve in the context of a local church. Everyone is needed to fulfill the mission of the church.

When you come to First Baptist Church, there are three main ways you can get involved in serving:

These are areas where you can get involved quickly as a participant. You can help facilitate certain parts of our ministries, from helping serve food, volunteering in sports ministry, or teaching an English as a Second Language (ESL) class. Any ministry that involves working with minors will require a background check for people involved in serving.

At FBC, we offer many opportunities for missions, such as our annual Touching Lives for Christ service day, working at With Love from Jesus, regional or national trips, and even international opportunities around the world. We encourage all of our members to be involved in missions in some way. We do not all have to fly around the world, but we are called to serve others.

We have many opportunities to disciple other believers. We offer small group studies where people get to know one another and mentor one another. This can happen in a small group setting, or even a one-to-one session. We are told to make disciples and we look for opportunities to introduce people to Christ, and help them grow in their faith.

How can we help you get engaged in serving others in the community?
